How did Dovid Hamelech remind himself not to waste time from Torah learning?

(26,3) If you walk in My statutes, and observe My commandments, and perform them.

It says in the midrash (Vayikra Rabbah 35:1) that King Dovid said “Master of the World! Every day I would think about going to a certain place and a certain dwelling, and my feet would bring me to a shul or to a beis medrash”.

Behold, it says in the mishnah (Pirkei Avos 3:1) “Consider three things, and you will not commit a transgression: Know from whence you came, and to where you are going, etc.”.

For this reason, every day when King Dovid awoke in the morning and wanted to conquer his evil inclination, he would remind himself about the day of death and to where he is going, and say to himself: “I am going to a certain place and to a certain dwelling”, that is, to the grave, and by doing so, every second became precious in his eyes, and thus he would not waste time from learning Torah and praying.
